Elsass, a Unique French Antique Store in Round Hill, Virginia.

Designed and Curated by The Carved Tulip Interiors.

In early 2022, one of our long-standing residential design clients asked us to create a new and exciting business with her. We immediately got to work creating a brand concept, selecting a location, designing the interior and exterior spaces, and curating the first installation of furniture, décor, and art pieces for this new venture - Elsass, a French antique store in the heart of historic Round Hill, Virginia. After over a year of planning, designing, and working with our client and her master contractor, our client’s first European shipment of antiques from the Alsace region of France arrived at the store for the shop’s grand opening on July 14, 2023 - French Bastille Day.

Each week, The Carved Tulip restocks and styles the shop in order to bring a curated and styled shopping experience for customers looking to find unique, genuine antique treasures from Europe and the U.S.

Built around 1920, the historic building that now hosts Elsass once served as a car dealership, a gas station, and, most recently, an auto service station.

The design transformation from auto mechanic shop to French antique store was made with great effort to celebrate and maintain the character and history of the building — including its original terracotta walls, tin ceilings, and oversized antique glass windowpanes.

Elsass is owned and operated by our client, a local community-focused business woman — Pamela Graff. The shop is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
